My building faces Lady Liberty in Liberty Island because she
represents a fashion icon and the American freedom along with many other things,
and also she is one of the very few women statues. On top of everything else Lady
Liberty was a gift from France, and Paris is known to be a Fashion Capital. Haute
Couture began during the 18th century in France and designers there then
began to be the fashion Mughals and prescribed what is known to be fashionable
and what is not. So with that said since my Building is a Boutique Hotel based
on high fashion and has a cantilevering runway over the water and all, it is a
stronger view and the best direction the building can face.
As you say, you have a desirable location any arquitect would envy, a perfect view of Lady Liberty with all its implications, the water front, low height neighbour buildings, Louis Valentino Park, Red Hook Pier. Challenge. Integrate views, combine culture, history and modernity and keep present the theatrical aspect your Boutique hotel should have.
